194 – The Hannibal Show

What do you pair human liver with? That’s one of the many topics will discuss this week, as we sink our teeth into ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ and the more recent ‘Hannibal’ television series.

From Thomas Harris’ mind was born one of the most iconic characters of our time. Hannibal Lector leaps from the pages of his various books and took on a life of his own. As the years go on, he seems to be only growing in popularity.

The gang at ’40 Going On 14′ have set the table for dinner and it’s time to say grace. Let’s eat!

192 – Piranhas!

160 – The Things!

October is upon is and that means it’s time for ’40 Going On 14′ to celebrate: Oct-O-Boo! First up, from 1982, John Carpenter’s ‘The Thing’ vs the 2011 prequel, ‘The Thing’. When you’re stuck at an isolated, frozen research center, what’s the last thing you want to have to deal with? How about a shape shifting alien, with a penchant for murder?

We’re kicking things off right, with a special effects heavy double feature that has more blood, guts, gore and icky stuff than you can shake a flame thrower at. Grab your 10 gallon sombrero and let’s play guess who’s a xenomorph!

151 – Ghostbusters!

This week, we’ll find out if the guys are! They’re talking about the original ‘Ghostbusters’ and the brand new remake. Despite all of the ongoing controversy, they’re going to strap on their proton packs, zip up their flight suits and trap Slimer one more time. It’s the ‘Ghostbusters’ show!

Who you gonna call? Holtzman of course. Just admit it, we’re all crushing on Holtzman.

134 – Goosebumps!

What scared you as a kid? Was it evil lawn gnomes, giant blobs, robotic children with on/off switches? Perhaps it was the twisted tales of R.L. Stine? This week, it’s all about ‘Goosebumps’! Not so much the books, but the mid-90’s Canadian television series and how it compares to the 2015 Jack Black film of the same name.

It’s all about the beginning, the middle and the twist ending and Slappy will be on hand to wreak all kinds of havoc too. Take a trip with us, as we head down the young adult horror highway.

We’re staying up ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ this week and sinking our fangs into this classic hybred of road movie and vampire thriller. Spanning the time between 1996’s original release, up to the current television series on El Ray and Netflix.

Grab some holy water condoms and let’s do this thing. Vampire killers, let’s get to killin’ vampires.

110 – Screams

108 – A Nightmare on Elm Street

1, 2, Freddy’s coming for you. 3, 4, Patrick’s at the door, with the rest of the guys! That’s right, Freddy’s come all the way from Elm street to play and this time you’re not dreaming. In memory of a horror icon, the guys are dedicating the month of October to the films of Wes Craven. First up, it’s all about ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, the 1984 original and the 2010 remake. Grab your red and green sweater and steal a fedora from the local hipster, Nancy’s already got the coffee brewing and it’s starting to get dark out. Sweet dreams, kids.
